Another year and almost another decade has come to an end. As a matter of fact as of today, my 69th birthday, I am entering the final year of my 60's. I started my 69th year with a ten mile run this morning and got it in before it got to hot. We're in a long spell of triple digits. While I didn't get to do a race on my birthday because it is a Monday I did get to race on my final weekend as a 68 year old. I ran the Fab 40's 5K for Alzheimer's awareness in Sacramento. It was interesting in that it started and finished in a cemetery. The cemetery was actually the race sponsor. It was my fastest 5K of the year so I was happy about that.
Two weeks earlier I did a 2 mile in Escalon. It was part of our club's Grand Prix Series. It was the first race that I ran without any knee support and the knee felt fine.
Tomorrow I leave for a trip to Colorado. It's time for another "Reunion Run". I'm only going to spend a few days in Colorado but I'll see and do quite a bit including two races. On the way I'm taking "The Loneliest Road in America" through Nevada and Utah. Hopefully I'll visit a few National Parks and Monuments on the trip out. The trip back is still being developed.
